How The Sun Looks From Every Planet In Our Solar System

Sun Solar System Venus

Our Solar System is an unbelievably amazing place – filled with both beauty and the vast unknown. The Sun however, is what keeps our Solar System functioning. In essence, we’d be nowhere without it.

Artist and illustrator Ron Miller has created a series of truly mesmerizing visualizations of our Sun – from the views of each planet (and our old friend Pluto). In an interview, Miller told IFLscience, “I’ve taken care in not only making sure the Sun is depicted realistically, but also the surfaces of the planets and satellites as well.”

Given the laws of physics, the Sun’s brightness is equivalent to the square of the relative distance from it. For example, if you are now half as close to the Sun as you originally were, the visible brightness would be a fourth of what it originally was. (1/2)2 = 1/4… yeah, it confuses us a bit too.

Anyways, forget the math. Check out Ron Miller’s amazing illustrations below.
